Like most of my readers, I am watching the horror unfold in Greece and in the UK. What most people fail to connect is that the same horror is beginning to paralyze Chicago, Illinois.
It's no coincidence that the chaos started in conjunction with the mayoral election of osama 'dick' obama's (O'd'O) pet Community Organizer/thug, Rahm Emanuel. Hey! This harkens back to the 'anything goes attitude during the reign of "Big Bill Thompson", the paid 'community organizer' and thug, who took over the mayor's office during the 1920's. Thompson, too, allowed criminal behavior to run rampant. Can we ever forget ol' Syphilis Al Capon-e-o? Thompson was the best politician that money could buy, and appears to be Rham's roll model.
I have one thing to say to Chicago police 'officials'. Shame! Shame! Shame on you! Well, that's three things, but who cares.
To the Chicago police. You have a choice. Be the police men or women you were hired and trained to be, or be "community organizing" union thugs and speed up the total destruction of Chicago, Illinois, beautiful gem of America's heartland.
Chicago has so very much to offer visitors, but is currently sinking into the slime of failed socialist politics. Community Organizers want that. Then they can point to the result, their result, by the way, and blame it on the Republicans, or any politician that doesn't go along with Socialist/union tenets. But IT IS THEIR DESTRUCTIVE URGING, that has caused this chaos. You see, decent people don't have time for this kind of garbage. They are usually too busy going about their lives. At least, until O'd'O caused their jobs to go away. Remember? He's a 'community organizer', too! In fact, osama 'dick' obama never actually had a real job. You know, like Jesse Jackson, another self-promoter from that wonderful city.
You police are the 'army' that protects Chicago. You must do your jobs, or Chicago will be well on the way toward the same decay (Cancer) that destroyed Detroit. Socialism and 'community organizing' went well there, didn't they? When you cops joined the force you were filled with a sense of duty and righteousness. You wanted to 'do the right thing'. But, all too soon, the local 'community organizers' (union reps) took you aside, maybe threatened you a little, to 'get with the program'. So you fell from grace...much like Lucifer. You slowly became part of the problem, not part of the solution, as you initially wanted to be.
You cops whom are still waffling. You that still feel the internal conflict between 'fitting in' and doing the job for which you are paid. You are the hope for Chicago. You must act and start fulfilling your job responsibilities again. You must remember that you don't work for your union, although those bastards want you to believe that crap; and you don't work for the 'community organizers'. No, YOU WORK FOR THE GOOD AND DECENT PEOPLE OF THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. You work for those wide eyed little kids who worship and respect you...who want to be ...just...like...you... when they grow up. Only you cops can make their dreams once, again, into honorable careers. Only you can cull out the cancerous 'bad cops', and continue to do your jobs with the same honorable intentions that brought you into the force.
You are not 'union' cops. You are Chicago Cops. Clean up all the slime that's destroying your city and renew its luster as "The Gem of the Midwest".

I recently went to an exteded family event and one of my distant relatives by marriage was all excited about moving to Chicago.
I was so taken aback that I thought she was mental. I think that it was more of a demonstration of how out of place in any city and how I just do not find the attraction, but come on Chicago?

Chicago is a wonderfully diverse city. I referred to Chicago as "The Gem of the Midwest". In many ways it is.
But. There has always been a seamy side to Chicago and it's suburbs. In skoki, Cops patroling some areas wears full body armour, aka "Robo Cop".
There are great museums, libraries (try the Schaumburg, IL library. One of the top libraries in the country), Zoos, etc.
But there is that political decay that just doesn't seem to go away.
Chicago can be once again a great gem of a city. Not until the corruption is cut out, though. I had the benefit of traveling to and throughout the 'city' during my career. I saw the decay spread out from just outside the downtown area, all the way to the airports and beyond. What I saw I could only explain as the result of too many entitlements and too little respect for 'the self'. When you don't have to work for something it's easy to just trash it and move on. Well, Chicago has hit it's boundaries, so it's now or never, and the current political system is corrupt, so...
