I'm still confused. I raised two daughters, I have 4 grandchildren. I see the lack of interest they exhibit in what is happening to this wonderful country, being torn apart by political extremes. I often read about what I see every day, "get more..."; "buy this..."; "You must have this (gizmo)...": in other words, buy, buy, buy, ie, consume.
That said, here comes my WHY?
Why do the far left wing "Wing Nuts", want to give all their hard earned money away in excess taxes or "wealth sharing" with people who do not want to work for a living.
If the reader is one of these folks, well, then, what motivates you? You continue to vote politicians (Pelosi and Reed to name a few) who want your "extra" money to buy votes to keep them in office. I can more understand Rep Bernie Sanders of Vermont, he declared himself a Socialist. But to what end?
If the reader is still in college, let me suggest something: Go up to your professor and ask that your "A" grades be cut down to "Cs", and failing students in class be given the two extra grades so they can pass. If you like the Left Wing Nut policies of spreading things around, then giving your high grades away should be perfectly OK, right?
After all is said and done, that's the same scheme the Left wants to do with money made by people who knock themselves out, working 70-80 hours a week to provide well for thier families and themselves.
That idea is so unAmerican it is simply mind boggling.
There is a solution, built right into our tax code. All those who want to give their hard earned money away to people who'd rather do nothing can do this simply. Write the IRS or Treasury Department and ask them to take an additional 20-30 % of your paycheck each month to be applied toward even more social programs that do not work. Treasury will be happy to do so, and you can have whatever sense of accomplishment this act will give you. But Do Not Demand that I or my family do the same. It's not your money to redistribute. Left wing nuts always try to confuse you into believing it is unAmerican not to "help those who cannot help themselves". I worked in the business world, I worked in mental health, I was a crisis counselor. The kind of thinking preached by the far left is pure BS. Most of those "poor people" who want your money, wouldn't take a job if it was handed to them. What they want is 'freebees" so they can go back to being dependent, but not working for a living. Social Services today revolves around getting these folks "entitlements". Wow, what a name! and who gave the freebees the name "entitlements", the left wing nuts, of course. (Read my previous posts to confirm what area(s) of the political spectrum the Wing Nuts hang out at).
Ask yourself this. Where did these kinds of ideas enter my thinking? Do I want to live in a small apartment when I am married and starting a family, barely getting by, or do I want to earn a increasingly better living every year so I can save for the higher standard of living that I desire for my family?
If you answer the first part "I got my wealth giving ideas from my teachers, then sit down and ask yourself if you really agree with these ideas. Probably not, and the longer you are away from college, the less these kinds of hair brained ideas will make sense to you.
If you are in college, hearing this manure from narcissistic professors and teachers, you, my friend, are being brain washed by members of the Socialist or Communist Party. Think not? Ask the educators who espouse these ideas to state exactly how many years they worked in the private sector. No, not as consultants, but actually worked, as employees. You will find if you stick to your research, that the Socialist brain washing you receive is inversely proportional to the amount of time you educator has spent working in the private sector. I can go into detail, but you are bright. Think about it. If you have a Eureka moment, keep pushing. Education, especially at higher levels, is supposed to be two way. Do not simply take what the educator says as the truth!

EDGING TO THE STARTING LINE - MEASURING POLITICAL LEANING
Two "Republicans" have antied up enough financial lubricant to be considered contenders for the 2012 Presidential race. Mitt Romney with almost $800,000 and SarahPalin with about $450,000 given to other candidates' campaigns as noted in their PAC financial reports. My issue with Romney is that, although he appears to be a very good businessman, he allowed RomneyCare to become law in Massachusetts. He is also more vote getting politician that Palin, who says what she believes in, no ifs ands or buts. Sarah has yet to prove that she has what it takes to be a National candidate. Being up on her version of foreign politics and explaining why, without giving up too much information to our political enemies will be quite an accomplishment. Right now, thanks to the wing nut press, she is painted as a quitter (Governor's job). That will take a lot of work to overcome.
When I think of Democrats and Republicans as political partys, I am speaking about maybe a total of 80% of those who declare themselves as such. The other 20%; 10% at each e x t r e m e end (that should say it all) of their respective party's, represent the "wing nut" agitators. News pundits refer to them as the "far right" or "far left". The only positive side to this 20% is that moderate voters who actually still believe in the principles of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, can observe how either group could destroy our wonderful country if they gain more that a loud mouthed toe hold on our politics.
Isn't it always that way?. The Extremists are always the agitators. Forget parties like the "TEA PARTY". No billy clubs, cursing, or shoving within that group. They are simply exercising their Constitutional freedom by voicing their beliefs. If you believe otherwise, you are not going to be beaten, shoved, hit, cursed, threatened, etc. The Tea Party appears to me to be solidly "0" on my scale. They appear to be tired of the all the screaming and conniving that the Wing Nuts are doing, including those in Congress.
My political scale:
Draw a horizontal line across a piece of paper to indicate 100 percentile points. Now highlight the 0-10 portion and the 90-100 portion of your line. Now you've highlighted the area containing the "wing nuts" of the left leaning and right leaning voters. The middle should be labeled "0" as these voters are mostly apolitical, "live and let live" So, now, revised, you have a line with a starting point of "0" in the middle, and end points of "50" at either end with the "45-50" notches at each end highlighted.
I found this to be an excellent mental measurement tool to use while talking politics with anybody.
Congress as a group is still very much out of control. Think Bosnia during that conflict...
The current bickering goes on, even after the election (who would ever believe that Pelosi and Greed would go quietly) PS, no accidental misspellings here.
Barry backed the Republicans into a corner by trading the tax hike resolution for extended "stay away from work" benefits. Fearing they'd be seen as heartless, the Repubs. folded like cheap umbrellas, holding the possibility of losing their precious seats in Congress (with all those juicy benefits) above doing the financially proper thing. You know, if the Repubs. REALLY do believe that keeping the tax structure the same, then they should have had the intestinal fortitude to kill the extended loafing benefits. I know that sounds callous, but all the Repubs. did was pitch that keeping the current tax scheme, would lead to a quick turnaround for the American economy.
Now, however, they allowed Mr Crafty-in-Chief to con them into committing suicide. Business are left unsure about their future because the Repubs. blatantly shouted that they don't believe in their own rhetoric. And the beat(down) goes on for all those Americans packed in around the "0" on my political scale.

Politics as usual?
Preamble to my BLOG:
I grew up asking a lot of questions, much to the irritation of my parents who couldn't answer most of them. I asked WHY? and HOW? so much that my mother threatened to change my middle name to "WHY".
As a prospector (Salvage business to most people) and stock trader, I am still asking (WHY? and HOW?) with the addition of (WHERE?) all the time. I also read blogs (that great little "Next Blog" button) during my trading hours. A great diversion if the market is slow or down, and it beats game after game of Solitaire, Hearts, or Free Cell.
The political blogs are simply amazing! I see a tremendous polarization of people leaning left or right. That can be good, but the lack of honesty and F A C T S to support such vitriolic writing is just as amazing. I am Center, Right in my personal beliefs. A test I took said I was Center, Right, Authoritarian, but that's picking nits. Having had careers in investigations AND mental health, among others, I read blogs looking for accuracy of comments, honest of opinion (can be subjective) and fact. I rarely see FACT.
In the politically heated times we have in America today, uncertainty creates anger and fury, depending on which team (left or right) you are rooting for. As I read I find myself asking WHY? a lot. I grew up before text books were routinely slanted to force one particular view on naive students. I also quit school, started a family, and returned to finish college, ending up with a degree, majoring in finance and psychology (long story) almost exactly 10 years after I started. The changes to our education system here in America were incredible! Again, I was asking (WHY?) a lot and receiving a lot of "because I said so" replies from teachers who, for the most part, were pretty dim-witted about "life" in general. That's about the time I started leaning Right of Center in my belief structure.
Well, to end that preamble before we all drown in it, I will state that many of my "WHYs?" will reflect on other's blogs, and what I see on the telly.
Maybe you, the readers, can chime in with your explanations. I will have to monitor to keep the hate levels down, but for the most part, comments will be welcome and left for others to read. SRT
